Coach Pete talks about how to get clear roles and responsibilities in your family business.
A common issue in family business is a lack of clarity regarding roles and responsibilities in the business. Especially in the beginning, it can be hard to define and figure out exactly how each team member is best suited for the business. Other times it may feel as though everyone is doing a little bit of every job. This can be an unhealthy pattern to start in a family business. It is important to be able to step back and take a look at what your exact role is, what your level of authority is, and where your accountability lies. This makes us more effective as members of a family business team.
In this video, Coach Pete helps lay the groundwork for the best way to define roles and responsibilities in your family business. As a family business evolves over the years, the roles and responsibilities should gradually become more defined. A business has a life cycle not unlike that of a person. It starts as an infant and with time and nurturing, grows into a full-functioning, well-adjusted adult!
As always, Coach Pete urges you to get out there, practice, and play to your potential!
