Coach Pete’s Highlight Card
Pete Walsh

Why do you like coaching family business?
After experiencing the difficulties of family business first hand, and feeling alone in that process, I find great joy in helping others find the tools to deal with inherent challenges in a family business. I also really enjoy partnering with people so they don’t feel alone dealing with the issues.
What would clients say are the best attributes of your coaching style?
Clients consistently say they appreciate the fact that I am kind of a “regular guy.” My experience and insights are practical and based upon real-life experience. I think they also appreciate that I have a nice combination of a warm heart, a sense of humor, yet the courage to challenge them to face the tough questions. I’m able to quickly establish trust and credibility with family members.
What is your coaching education or approach?
I received my Coaching Certification from Coach University. After having been a coach for over 20 years, I have attended many coaching programs and I bring a mix of those to every coaching engagement. I would say the foundations of my work are around the ideas of “deliberate practice” and “reflective practitioner.” These techniques bring developing and practicing to higher levels of self-awareness toward continuous improvement.
What are your hobbies and other interesting facts?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and friends at our cabin in the mountains. I am a golf lover and am continually trying to find ways to improve my game. Continuing to learn by reading books and listening to podcasts is what I love – all in pursuit of finding more meaning and joy in my life.
Is there anything else you’d like potential clients to know?
I want to encourage them to find coaches and teachers that can help them create a life they love. I can’t imagine where I would be without the help of so many wonderful teachers and guardian angels along the way. Personal development takes a great deal of courage and determination. Be courageous and take that first step!
