Mothers are awesome! Mothers do so many things for their families that go unseen and often unappreciated.
I have been blessed to get to know some extraordinarily special women who have been the cornerstone of many great family businesses.
Sure, we could do the usual thing and get her a bouquet of flowers and a card. That would work. Or you might consider a few more unconventional gifts to give Mom this Mother’s Day.
Give her a giant bear hug!
What better thing than to give Mom a real genuine warm, long hug. Hold it for a few extra seconds this time – not the usual fast one you give her.
Tell her what she’s meant to you
Give it some real thought. Express how her love and support has made such a difference in your life.
Ask her some deep questions
Ask her something like…
- What’s been your biggest source of happiness as our Mom?
- What’s been something you’d love to say to me but you never have?
- What can I do for you now in your life?
- How can I be of service to you?
Coach Dad to step up
Dads can be dinosaurs. Coach Dad to say a few things from his heart. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Help Dad stretch this Mother’s Day!
Time is precious
Want to get some perspective on how much time you might have with Mom? Here’s an interesting article I came upon this week.
Enjoy your day with Mom!
